Has anyone else noticed that the words “evil” or “pure evil” are thrown around so indiscriminately on this website now? The desire to break through the noise and garner attention has surely led to more extreme language and I just hope it doesn’t lead to more extreme action.

I’d rather the city break a few eggs attempting to facilitate what it takes to sustain long term growth than do whatever this is. Allowing more density around points of transit is not controversial, especially when you consider how expensive the damn transit is.

I get that this is not ideal at a basic level, I just wonder why we are so fixated on what is happening with this 1% of the existing US housing supply rather than doing whatever it takes to: - Increase supply & - Invest in underserved neighborhoods to make them more attractive.

My gut always defaults to “that’s crazy” when people claim that AI will be such a boon to productivity that we will all just work less. But there was a time in this country when literal children worked 16 hours per day. Maybe I’m thinking too small.

I don’t care what side of this debate you’re on tbh… But we need to get a grip on our empathy online. Without even having the option to file for bankruptcy, so many people’s lives are quite literally ruined bc they made the wrong decision when they were 18. Horrifying.
