When you’re a trainee on long calls—sleep deprived, rushing around, exhausted—patients may become the enemy... Each patient need representing a barrier to sleep and health. This isn’t a model that builds empathy. It smashes it to the ground.

Does anyone have information about federal guidelines requiring urine drug screens in patients receiving any controlled substances (not just MOUD)? I've been hearing a lot of mixed information from physicians & patient experiences so I'm curious about what is actually required.

One of you brilliant people recently had a study about the ineffectiveness of mandatory counseling for MOUD, I remember the limitation being that the counseling as-is is inherently not-evidence based. Anyone remember? NEED IT.

This is great advice! I've found when I schedule rest days in my calendar it can reduce the guilt of not working b/c I'm following my plan for the week. One of the best things I did for my mental health during grad school was set aside 1 day a week as a rest day, every week.
