"My country only emits 1% of global emissions. What it does makes no difference". It's a common claim. But add up the emissions of countries that emit less than 2% each (a 'negligible amount') – they emit more than China. Imagine if they all decided to do nothing.

Ireland had the 2nd highest UN Human Development Index in 2019. However it includes an inflated Irish GNI. Using Modified GNI* Ireland drops to around 9th place.

Dear Ireland..I know I sound like a broken record on this but look what happens when you get to very low levels of COVID-19. Imported cases often make up 100% of your cases. You will NOT find all imported cases by relying on arrivals to voluntarily present for testing if unwell..

Very difficult read on a cyclist being knocked down in Dublin. “Physiotherapy which continues to this day, PTSD and depression which continue to this day. “The driver was fined €250.” Dublin desperately needs better cycling infrastructure. jrnl.ie/5002215

Seville is similar to Dublin in size and population... but it has over 100km of dedicated and segregated cycle tracks. Prior to 2006 though there was virtually no cycling infrastructure in the city but now bike use has increased from 10,000 cycle trips per day to 70,000 trips.

@Stag442 @jonnyfallon This is the total remittances from Ireland to other countries in each of the past three years we have data. The source is Eurostat and the CSO. Total remittances to Nigeria are €16 million per annum or about €950 per head.
