Follow up question. In what situations would stopping your vehicle, getting out and deploying a rifle be better than either driving away (if you can) or using a handgun from the window. No wrong answers here I just want input.

@basecamp_t The best defense is "no be there" so leaving should always be option 1. However if family or friends are in danger, that may change the situation.
@basecamp_t Roadblock with no way out. Seeing an active shooting engaging. If you catch one of your opps slippin in the hood.
@basecamp_t That's a good one actually. I'll have to think on that. Quick answer, you've been roadblocked.
@basecamp_t Government: Maybe theirs, maybe ours
@basecamp_t Family/friends dismounted and in danger. Hasty ambush on somebody chasing you (to try and hurt you) in their own vehicle. Being physically prevented from driving away while being threatened.
@basecamp_t Any situation where you can't drive away. If your vehicle is blocked or disabled a handgun is useful to get out of the vehicle, beyond that the rifle is much better for clearing the zone. Staying in the car where lethal force has to be deployed is a death trap.
@basecamp_t Remote Colorado, roll up on a traffic stop where an officer is in need and pinned down by multiple shooter from a single car and he is solo. There are situations that are possible in rural America. One could be a force multiplier at range.
@basecamp_t You're at 200 yards, and the yote is starting into the neighbor's sheep...
