@bayesianboy This contradiction should be really central to how we approach Marxism. Marx wasn’t anti-liberal as in he didn’t reject liberal humanist values in the abstract, but recognized that private property and its social relations are antithetical to liberalism’s values being realized.

@bayesianboy Precisely why the US criminalised *all* solidarity strikes federally via Taft-Hartley coming out of WW2, moving into the Cold War. Due to the West Coast Waterfront Strikes during wartime, mainly. In the original Wagner Act, only employers could commit Unfair Labor Practices.
