This is Jason's deep dark secret, he knows @GlennYoungkin never would have won the primary if it weren't for ranked choice voting. Jason voted in that election for Glenn. He knows the whack job who would have won a plurality would have lost the general. Jason LOVES Ranked Choice Voting. He makes a ton of money off from it, gets to jet set into hotels across the country and rub elbows with elected officials pretending to oppose it. But, at the end of the day, if he had to choose having a Democratic governor or expanding RCV in Virginia, where he lives, he would pick the latter every time. This is a deep shame. Anti-voters and the people that are paid to take anti-voter positions like Jason are as cynical as you can imagine any consultant being. He'll happily benefit politically from a system he cashes checks to oppose, and he'll do it knowing that system gives him a stronger voice in every election. But his bank account is more important to him than his principles, so he flies from DC to states like Michigan to try to stop grassroots movements like @RankMIVote's patrician to bring Michigan voters more choice and more voice in every election. The only thing sadder than this, are the politicians who got elected on the toxic system Jason wants to lock us in who repeat talking points he sends them without even thinking. Ranked Choice Voting is a nonpartisan level playing field and no one gets more upset when voters find out about it and start fighting for it than the deepest partisans and most cynical hacks. Jason is going to continue to self-identify as both very publicly. Or, he has to find a new career. Don't hold your breath waiting for him to grow principles to choose over his paycheck.
