Complex & unfortunate that this crisis happened smack in the middle of the Fed’s attempt to tame inflation. The latest CPI numbers show that inflation is still raging & hopefully Powell doesn’t take his foot off the pedal. Otherwise it will be his Nth screw up in 3 years.

Rule # 1 in recruitment and promotions to manager & above should be “candidates must demonstrate that they are good with people irrespective of how charismatic they are or how brilliant they are technically”. No people skills & you stay where you are!

The Fed is partly to blame for the banking crisis. They pumped cash like no tomorrow, created roaring inflation & now hiking rapidly causing weaker banks to collapse. Friedman was right- monetary policy is at the root of most financial misery.
