It’s not your place to tell Black people “not everything is about race.” More often than not, race is a factor, whether it’s blatant or subtle. Racist systems have long determined who gets uplifted and who stays oppressed.

If I engaged with every racist comment on my tweets, my energy would be depleted. I choose to ignore, and I’ve noticed that my indifference seems to unsettle them the most. I love to move on to the next tweet with the goal of educating racist minds.
