Let me take you into the mind of Satan and his demons. His very existence is a daily torment an unrelenting reminder of the fate that awaits him. He is like a criminal on death row, aware that judgment is sealed. But unlike a human prisoner who might grow weary and resign himself to the inevitable, Satan is driven by something deeper: dread and defiance. He knows his time is short. Revelation 12:12 says, “Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” His judgment is not death and disappearance it is eternal damnation, the lake of fire prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). And this knowledge drives him into a relentless, calculating fury. He understands the prophetic clock. He knows that the gospel must be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations “and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). So what does he do? He fights that prophecy. With all his might, he labors to keep the world deceived, to harden the hearts of men against the gospel, and most critically, to keep the gospel from reaching every corner of the earth. This is why the Bible says, “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). He raises up men and systems, disguising tyranny as stability and deception as wisdom. He installs fear and control in the hearts of rulers, all to keep the light of Christ out of their nations. These men think they are preserving culture or securing power, but they are pawns tools in the hands of a desperate devil. Satan does not care about your joy or your pain. Your tears, your celebrations they mean nothing to him. He is after only one thing: delay. Delay the gospel. Delay the return. Delay the trap from springing shut. He will deform your life, twist your story, and grind your identity into dust if it buys him a second. And if you were to ask him your name, he would not know it. You are one of billions just a grain of sand in his war for time. Yes, he knows that the end is certain. He reads the signs of the times like a general watching the battlefield shift. What he does not know is the exact moment. “Concerning that day and hour no one knows…” (Matthew 24:36). So, in every second gained, he sees a victory. He counts every delay as a necessity no cost is too great. Picture him now: a ferocious, intelligent lion caught in a trap. His leg is clamped by the jaws of divine prophecy, and he has no knife to cut it free. So he thrashes, growls, and tears at everything around him, trying to escape before the Owner of the trap returns. That trap is set in the field of humanity and you and I are the soil beneath it.
