Russia and China would be better off if they centered their suffering rather than their "victory" in WWII. The fact that Russia received relatively few geopolitical benefits from victory (and China none at all) is the fundamental driver of their tensions with the West today.

@blob_watcher Can't agree with this. The West whines enough as is about China's so-called victimhood narrative. Everyone respects a champ.
@blob_watcher Lol wut Russia got half of Europe what are you talking about. It cost them sure but they got their cut off the spoils
@blob_watcher What the fuck? You imagine a founding myth of two major countries being in wallowing over their losses and nothing else? Of course they want to celebrate their immense historical victories!
@blob_watcher It’s alright for Russia to emphasize their victory (along with their suffering of course). Their soldiers ultimately marched into Berlin and Moscow extended its hegemony further into Central Europe than it had ever before. For China it’s a very different story.
@blob_watcher Europe honors D-Day, America honors Normandy. India sent 2.5M soldiers, lost 87K lives, starved millions in Bengal to fuel WWII. No monuments, no Hollywood epics, no glory, no benefits but just silence. Empire took victory, erased the Indians who made it possible.
@blob_watcher Russia(USSR) helped start that war, and got half the Europe as a prize. It was their Soviet style communism system that kept them backward. Belarus and Ukraine had much larger population loses percentage wise than Russia.
@blob_watcher You don’t seem to know China as I thought. Chinese official narrative is indeed centered on suffering at the hands of foreign aggressors, CPC only came around as a result. But this was all reduced to China chest thumping in western media.
@blob_watcher Interesting revisionism. They got UN vetoes and retained whatever territories they occupied. Is it the US's fault that the USSR sucked at keeping theirs or that China had to fight a civil war and construct a modern regime?
@blob_watcher The USSR was given the entirety of Eastern Europe lmao Something they are trying to redo today lmao
@blob_watcher China was mostly unified and got a UN seat. They have paper documents from the Allies reassuring Taiwan goes back, it's not much but it's something.
@blob_watcher ..few benefits? Lol wut. They conquered territories with what..70 million people? That's nothing?
@blob_watcher Russia better adviced to let Communist past aside and celebrate the Tsarist era if anything.
@blob_watcher Russians ruled over more than half of Europe lol
@blob_watcher Even in circumstances where you are legitimately victimized, if capable, it is better not to acknowledge it.
@blob_watcher Russia is slowly regressing to its pre Stalin industrialisation program, just instead of peasant serfdom, commodity selling. The war definitely accelerated this.
@blob_watcher Weren't the Nazis trying to wipe out Russia? Weren't the Japanese trying to turn China into a colony? What am I missing?
@blob_watcher Delete your account you utter low IQ imbecile. You must be another low IQ South Asian shitstain.
