I’ve accepted the challenge from @peterson2teachU to post covers of 7 books I LOVE for a week. Promise this is my last for a while! I grew up going to NW Wisconsin every summer--this story is so well-told and heartfelt about a family cabin near Hayward. I felt like I was there!

Not actually advocating for this book specifically BUT inspired a self-proclaimed non-reader soph to say, "This book made me cry at the end...a book has never done that to me." She loved it! Why we advocate for student choice--what I chose never moved her. #SecondaryRead INSPIRE

Beautiful Moment: I noticed this book returned to my classroom library; I asked a student how it was--said he didn't finish & then he held up a copy he bought so he could write in it. Said he can't help writing in books since he started in my class. So Proud! MARGINALIA!
