There are plenty of men in their 60s and 70s who wouldn't dream of wearing 70s-era fashion, but insist on keeping hairstyles from the 70s. The "hair over half the ear" or "hair down just to earlobes" look makes me wonder if they have some ear disfigurement they're trying to hide.
