Politicians, civic leaders, and other leaders must stop asking social workers to VOLUNTEER for extra service when they never would do so with nurses and teachers! Social workers deserve to be valued too!
It's social work's time of reckoning, too: paltry salaries, exhausted workers, a leadership that speaks of social justice and racial equity--except for it's own. Enough!
If nurses can organize so well for safe conditions and good pay, why not social workers?
