All these social media companies keep reaching for the holy grail of turning their app into the "everything app". It's impossible. People actually appreciate context and compartmentalization. And also we already have an everything app. It's called a web browser.

Hey VA friends: a reminder to always ask (politely and professionally) if something feels off. Got about 1/3 of the way through recording for a project & noticed retake dates hadn't been booked. I asked the engineer when he'd like to book something and my stomach DROPPED.

People point to issues in Harry Potter like Cho Chang’s name or antisemetic tropes for goblins as signs that Rowling is bad. But to me, while those are worth criticism; the bigger issue is Rowling’s lack of desire to hear critique. Artist screw up; great artists grow up.

I'm reading The First 90 Days and I'm horrified by some of the advice... First the author says that as a new manager you should come in and quickly assess the performance of your new team, so you can quickly remove the low-performers and bring in A-performers.
