How to be a great leader is not a mystery.
It's a learnable skill.
But we don't talk enough about how.
We just expect leaders to figure it out - or already know.

Something I realize in Decade #2 of teaching: taking the time to create my own authentic exemplar before I ask students to do any writing is NEVER time wasted.

Saying "I might be wrong" is not a mark of ignorance. It reveals the absence of insecurity.
Arrogance is a shield for a fragile ego. Humility is a sign of self-assurance.
It takes confidence to admit uncertainty. The people who are the most sure are usually the most insecure.

Impostor syndrome is not a sign that other people are overestimating you. It's more likely that you're underestimating your potential.
Confidence is often a consequence of growth, not a cause. Believing in your ability is less important than believing in your ability to improve.
