His looks would last at least another ten years. And after that?
Beside the window was the bed; the afternoon sun fell across half of it.

With the joy of being immortal in his eyes, with his black and perfumed hair— the people going by would gaze at him.
An echo from my days given to sensuality, an echo from those days came back to me.
He’s completely devoted to books— but he’s twenty-three, and very good-looking.
