Signature game status for Maresca, imo

So happy to see maresca not only went for it at the end with 3 attacking subs but it also paid off. Hoping that encourages him more often to not play so passive. Finally trusted Guiu who provides some important qualities especially against tired legs! Also Estevao needs to start!

If Sesko is off there is no reason for 3 CBs and 3 CMs have some balls maresca and do it early, not doing it at half time means we get 1 double change; can’t wait for 70th, do it within 10 minutes.

Get to half time, get a sub of Enzo out for Garnacho or even Guiu so someone else is up top to stretch the pitch. 5-2-2 trust Santos and Caicedo to cover enough ground. Would like the Guiu sub to get some more physicality up front

Just caught the game, think what was most interesting to me was seeing maresca use Estevao as the 10 and Palmer at rw, Estevao seems a lot more willing to make those runs from the L10 to underlap the winger. Like that dynamic a lot, keeps Palmer out wide or r10 with rb overlap.

Let’s say Delaps injury is on the longer end of 8 weeks and he’s out until November 1st. In that span we play United away, Bayern away, Liverpool at home. The rest of the games are fairly easy, if we can survive that spell I think Delap/Guiu/Pedro* is fine for striker depth.

Should Colwill, Josh, Sarr and Asnelmino be our core CBs long term? Feel like with those 4 you can make great combos with either a 2 or a 3 man backline. All great on the ball with some good flexibility.

Let’s get Estevao on the ball more, Enzo needs to either play next to Caicedo or get off the pitch for Santos. Need a halftime adjustment to help our buildup; lose the diamond midfield set up and play the box midfield.

Doubt maresca would do a triple sub at half but I’d get santos for Enzo, estevao for Neto and Delap for gittens and move Pedro to LW. Atleast need Santos and Delap imo, Enzo just doesn’t look like he’s quite fit and we need that physicality up front from delap.

Would be just fantastic if badishille can stay healthy and regain the form he was in under potter. Huge opportunity for him, he’s got all the ability just needs some luck staying healthy and then get in form.

100% and he should be, will be an adjustment period for him, he hasn’t had competition since he came in, need to give him a little adaptation to not being main man always.

Nkunku about to stay this summer? Lowkey been really solid this tourney in terms of energy and effort off ball. If he figure it out and wants to stay it’d be nice to have another clinical finisher in the squad
