No one says or writes "o'clock" anymore. It used to be commonplace. You never see a sign that reads, "meeting at 5 o'clock." Now it's just "5:00 pm." I don't feel a loss about the transition, but I feel like this shift should be noted. It takes growing old to see language evolve.

This is an interesting conversation, but the idea that taxing outdoor gear benefits the people who buy outdoor gear makes zero sense. Just because someone buys a backpack doesn't mean they're going to use U.S. public lands the way hunters and anglers do. outsideonline.com/outdoor-gear/g…
