CJI Gavai is not the only one to be blamed for no recommendation for a woman judge at the SC. Since CJI Ramana, no woman judge has been recommended/elevated. There's a systematic problem here. DYC failed, too, despite so many 'pro' judgments. Who will solve this problem?

The SC of India will only have one woman judge. Hardly any representation from the SC/ST/OBC/NE communities. It's completely obnoxious to suggest that there are no qualified, meritorious, and hardworking candidates from these communities. Sad state of affairs qua representation!

The 50% cap reservation must be removed and a separate 10% quota must be given to the poor among SCs and STs or include them in EWS. SC and ST reservation must not be tampered unless caste based discrimination is completely eliminated.
