The reason we started #buildinpublic is because I've learned that the product doesn't come together until real user feedback is coming in. For that reason we started our docs.chartsql.com before writing a line of code. I call it 'docs first development'!
I'm exploring using @steampipeio for creating great charts for any API. Pretty easy integration being only a @PostgreSQL data source. Now Investigating speed and caching and what we need to do inside ChartSQL to make it super simple to chart against your popular APIs.
I struggled if I was going to build ChartSQL.js in @typescript or follow the path of @sveltejs and @dhh and stay in #javascript. Once I discovered that typescript can statically check my js using types defined in #JSDoc, pure js was the clear choice for me.
We're building ChartSQL for #SQL developers, with ease of use AND maintainability in mind. The point and click workflows in Tableau and PowerBI have a lot to be desired. I want all of those functions out of the UI and checked into Git, like god intended.
