This is Teacher Ashia with her new solar set! This means she can have light at her home in hours of darkness (to prepare lessons as it gets dark about 6 in Malawi) and she can also charge her work phone. We’ve provided a solar set for both teachers and another one at the school!

The school recently closed so the children and school staff can have a break. Here’s a photo from closing day, where Teacher Grace organised an examination paper for the children and their parents to complete. This helped to engage the parents with their children’s learning!

Here’s one of the students at the school writing numbers on the blackboard in a maths lesson. The school didn’t always have a blackboard - it has recently been fitted while improvements have been taking place. It makes a massive difference for learning! 📚 #malawi #education

Before the work started to replace the floor of The Chazuka School, it was dusty and the children would often get their booked and clothes dirty …but look at it now! Thanks to the donations to our Christmas appeal the children have a brand new floor! #EducationForAll

Our new school committee have completed a 6-day training course where they learnt all about school governance, including security and book-keeping. The training will help them to be as effective as possible, creating #growth and #sustainability for the school! #school #malawi

We’re excited to announce that a new school committee has been elected at The Chazuka School! People from 28 local villages attended the election and voted in 9 new members. Thanks to funding from KnownValuedLoved the committee have participated in school governance training.
