Leasehold reform seems to have gone very quiet lately. However, I believe the day of reckoning is coming. The lid has been well and truly lifted on the nefarious leasehold system, the desperate lobbying of wealthy freeholders to put the lid back on won't work.

@dannybster @HarryScoffin I have found that my mind struggles to think of things as fast as I used to do there’s like a delayed reaction , tomorrow I’ll be homeless,but in a strange way I’m glad the nightmare of leasehold will be over - hello car my new home for now ! Quite rightly there has been uproar regarding the PO scandal... however the Leasehold scandal impacts hundreds and thousands of people is literally destroying mental health and impoverishing those stuck in the nightmare... this situation requires immediate retrospective action

I suspect we're going to be charged too. Our fire doors were never compliant as gaps were too wide but I fully expect Barratt to say it's 'wear and tear' and the freeholder to sit back. See how your developer remediation plan works in practice @AlexJJNorris? Victims pay ❌

I did loose my home-can never buy another one-also in my 60’s. Had to attend court a few times & had a total mental breakdown-lost everything & homeless…my heart goes out to you

No issue with Raynor having use of 3 properties, but the story of the method used to avoid 2nd home stamp duty is disturbing. I paid a huge amount of stamp duty due to not being able to sell my defective flat, plus there are rumours of further tax hikes. Galling to see this.

Why do UK small landlords pay higher taxes than private equity? The govt took away the tax shield on mortgages, added massive stamp duty on purchases. now want to add NI. All while doing nothing to regulate corrupt property freeholders. I guess they all have better lobbyists.
