Some of Team 507 made a quick trip to Derby today to check up on 507001.
We're dealing with summer heat now, but Autumn will soon be here. With it arrives the nemesis of train drivers everywhere - poor rail adhesion. Simon demonstrates how 507s were prepared for leaf-fall season by testing the Wheel Slip Protection (WSP) system. Commentary by Tom.

Also, it was really nice to finally see 507001 it will forever be in my heart forever growing up on them!
One year ago today saw the last diagrammed 507 services on Merseyrail. From 25th August 2024, the few remaining 507s only appeared on an “ad hoc” basis. 507001 is seen at Aigburth on 23rd August, the penultimate day of booked 507s on the Hunts Cross line.
