I went to prom for like 2 minutes, there was practically no one there so I left and went to the darkroom. & yes, I was wearing converse. But I prob took them off to go barefoot in the darkroom as was my habit. Pretty sure I still have all this exact same energy.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@MaglioJen @upandoutcomic it *is* very cute and fantasy-like, which is exactly why some adult non-binary ppl dislike it: it kinda seems to evoke ideas that all n/b ppl are children or childish or 'unreal'. some n/b ppl love IDing as childlike and fae, and that's great! but not at all universal.

@upandoutcomic nibling is cute, but it has two problems: (1) it's a little too cute for adults, and (2) it just sounds like "nibbling." like, "taking teeny tiny bites."

@upandoutcomic I will put forth “neef” or “neff” “Nef” in Old English was a fairly general term for a younger relative, which imo works fine (“nef[f]”), and “neef” is a semiplausible evolution, which sounds a bit like both “niece”/“nephew” but not as weird as “nibling”

@Category_Fury @dykesweating I don’t like “nibling” so I looked into the etymology and came up with neef (could be spelled nieph) This is based on the Old English words for “young relative” (niece/nephew, removed cousin, grandkid) in a way that also sounds between niece & nephew
