I just found out that the creator of JavaScript, Brendan Eich, opposes gay marriage. This is the funniest thing I have ever heard. 85% of the web developers I know are queer; many are married and queer at the same time. Lookin forward to being gay and doing more JavaScript.
This is the ULTIMATE example of death of the author. Yeah you may not like the gays buddy but guess what we're out here rubbing our gay little hands on your creation so
@codeability Allan Turing - the inventor of the Turing machine is the original architect of the modern computer. Allan Turing was super gay. Every time you use computer technology, you are using technology that was architected by a gay man.
@codeability Need someone to make a BE GAY DO JAVASCRIPT sticker.
@codeability Touching it everyday with my little gay hands
@codeability Yeah, he donated to prop 8 and it was actually the reason he left Mozilla I believe. The Brave browser even includes an alt-right search engine. You're right though, some of the most influential people in JS are queer which is perfect.
@codeability I had a long chat with Brendan about this episode and he explained his opinion. I don't agree with him but he's definitely not homophobic. DM if you wanna know his arguments.
@codeability You sure he still does? I haven't heard much about this for the past four years. Not sure why it's just now a thing again .
@codeability Not only opposes, he donated for anti gay causes
@codeability I don't see how your sexuality is related to you writing Javascript.
@codeability There is no position on marriage equality and oppose it and the say u are not homophobic, it's like dividing by 0 it can't be done... At what point does two dudes or ladies marrying effect a straight person, it doesn't so your just wrapping your hate in weak argument
@codeability Wow, I did not know this. Maybe devs could join forces and switch to a more accepting alternative to JS? ☺️
@codeability 85%? That’s a very high over-representation. How come?
@codeability So what if @BrendanEich has a different stance....he's allowed to. You're still using the language he made. He gives no fucks either way. It's ironic that you're making a statement on social media...but still make your dollars from JS - what are you trying to gain or prove?
@codeability F yea! Another reason I'm on my way to becoming a gay ass software engineer. THank you!
@codeability Queer and writing so damn much JavaScript. I’ll be happy if this bigot’s legacy is just full of queer innovation.
