In the LLM-science discussion, I see a common misconception that science is a thing you do and that writing about it is separate and can be automated. I’ve written over 300 scientific papers and can assure you that science writing can’t be separated from science doing. Why? 1/18

Containers aren't "boxed processes" - they are "boxes FOR processes" 🧐 Often, a box is implemented with namespaces and cgroups (Linux containers). Probably that's what made the misconception so widespread. But there are VM- and (since recently) Wasm-based boxes too!

For a personal project on AWS it can feel silly to pay $16.40/mo for a load balancer in front of a $2.70/mo container, just to get TLS termination and zero-downtime deployments. Try API GW instead. It’s much cheaper, but I rarely see people doing this awsteele.com/blog/2022/10/1…
