@coderfrankfurt The documentation tells you how to fix the problem and how not to repeat it in the future. And, of course, the solution is usually much more elegant.
@coderfrankfurt I never read docs, I go straight to SO 😅
@coderfrankfurt Naw. Official docs is my go to source
@coderfrankfurt @cokeandcode They are usually poorly explained and mostly in text
@coderfrankfurt some documentations sucks and complicate things instead of making them easier🤷🏻♂️
@coderfrankfurt It depends on the documentation of the tool. For eg documentation new documentation or ReactJS is so good 🔥 that a beginner event doesn't need to go after YouTube tutorials. It explains each concept so well.
@coderfrankfurt Most documentation isn't written with usability and specific solutions as examples, and might have multiple versions. It's exponentially faster and easier to find a solution on stack overflow and read up how it works afterwards, than read through the entire documentation
@coderfrankfurt Docs: Simplest use cases, but probably not real-world Probably correct Fast StackOverflow: Real-world use cases Maybe correct Fast, slow or never **Have to deal with jerks ChatGPT: Real-world, but limited (so far) Maybe correct Fast **Very polite 🥸
@coderfrankfurt Yeah but can you copy paste code snippets from the documentation?
@coderfrankfurt Stackoverflow? Is this a meme from the pre-GPT era?
@coderfrankfurt poking a senior for help is also occupied
@coderfrankfurt On the leftmost, soon there will be a desk of ChatGPT.
@coderfrankfurt Stack overflow is probably more useful for specific solutions, or use cases with multiple components, or in general, adding some useful more up to date information. I can read PHP documentation on how to use their regex functions, but I'll always Google the actual patterns 😅
@coderfrankfurt need to update the meme with chatgpt...
@coderfrankfurt Change now StackOverflow for ChatGPT.
@coderfrankfurt Nobody likes diging, everyone wants easy to get stuff.
@coderfrankfurt This is the basic problem with most of developers, as we think to finish task or job fast with solution but not interested to learn about it first .
@coderfrankfurt I agree. It's better to follow the documentation. That way, you don't have to create new arbitrary documentation that developers can't find on the web.
@coderfrankfurt Docs are not well maintained as stackoverflow. 😂
