@coding_addict Hi there, developer working in healthcare here. You'll be happy to know that there is an IEC 62304 standard, specifying increasing levels of rigor in the software dev lifecycle as you go from Class A (can't hurt you), to Class B (could hurt you), to Class C (could kill you).
