@codinghorror But the Raspberry Pi 3 doesn't keep you warm in winter!
@codinghorror @ericlaw after 14 years of Moore's Law it better be faster
@codinghorror but I bet you can't fry a steak with a Raspberry. The pentium 4 could cook a whole meal.
@codinghorror @waxzce test pi3 on Linux and pentium on Windows.... Not very représentative no ?
@codinghorror Just checked my broken MSI-915GM4 motherboard... Pentium 4 still there. Oh the humanity! It used to be my file server before it blew up in a thunderstorm. Almighty popping noise it was and the air filled with words that shall not be repeated... Just felt the world should know.
@codinghorror This data sheet is missing wattage for the full effect.
@codinghorror you know what this means: Starcraft on the Raspberry Pi 3
@codinghorror @SwiftOnSecurity Not sure I trust any benchmark that claims an x58 i7 is barely faster than a Pi3B.
@codinghorror Look at Lua comparison to get a better match. FP/Stream almost never matches real world performance.
@codinghorror Not if you're only working with integers!
@codinghorror And ARM-derived SoCs seem to be doubling in speed (or more) each year, but the current gen Intel i7 laptop is like 25% faster than the one I bought 5 year years ago.
