It will really be great if companies can allow developers to opt out whenever they feel the signs of burnout; most of the time, opting out for one or two days is enough to recharge since they're not really burned out yet Wait, who will then do their jobs?

We can share their tasks among other team members until they come back So, are you saying we should pay employees without working? No, you're not paying employees for days or hours, you're paying employees for productivity that means you're losing when they're not productive

They keep building things leading to more problems that may affect users experience and your revenue eventually. It is okay since there tasks are being done by others. As a boss, you're not the one taking up the responsibility, it is their team mates and that is mutual.
