Finally solved desync happening on car physics. My fix is a little telling of something else going on, but its a good start and with plenty of time to resolve more efficiently in future. Sometimes you have to move on from a problem to get stuff done! #indiegamedev

Spent some time getting a dedicated server working. Still supports hosting in game, but this way I have options down the line before things get too difficult to work on. Also highlighted some rubber banding which I've hopefully solved by reconciling my is grounded flag! #indiedev

Fully moved over to rendergraph with GPU resident drawer, no GPU culling though as my built in scene culling is slightly more efficient. But still getting 130fps with 20000 zombies. Multiplayer playtest this evening, hoping it isn't too broken! #indiedev #gamedev

So while my dabble in Octrees was a good learning experience, I realised that my precalculated collider code is actually quite efficient, and populating an octree at load was actually less efficient. Oh, and optimised more so now I have 20000 zombies #gamedev #indiedev

Spent a few days trying to get AI behaving and at a place where it can at least get round a course. But it has a habit of turning too late so more work required. Keen on actually having it work out the way to go rather than using curves but let's see 😁 #indiedev

Working on AI this evening. Got cars that drive and avoid obstacles without fully mapping the track. Though they still have a tendency to drive off into the sunset when going too fast. Tweaking it 😄

Implemented race state so now it counts down to start of the race with a flyby, laps and checkpoints work in multiplayer. Also added a mini map with checkpoints shown. Also added a pickup that makes your car chunky. Lots of progress #indiedev
