I will never, for the life of me, understand why lesson/unit plans is the hill so many are willing to perish on. THAT’s where you draw the line? THAT’s what you’re willing to lose teachers over? A plan, that is more than likely going to change, mid-class?

I am a chaotic teacher. I'm not the most organized and my lessons are all over the place. But students will go deep in their thinking and they will enjoy the emotional rollercoaster of it all. And I realized today that my favorite teachers have all been chaotic geniuses.

Gentle reminder- Just because the curriculum is neatly packaged, doesn't mean that teaching and learning needs to be. There's a real messiness to learning. And that's ok.

I just noticed in Google Chrome that you can now save tab groups and it will sync those groups across devices in your account. Getting work together on your chromebook and moving to a classroom computer later? Done!

I don't know when it happened, but when you type an equal sign after a math expression in Google Docs, it will do the calculations for you.

I used to take off points for late work. And then I noticed the same kids getting points taken off. And then I realized that *maybe* I was perpetuating an underlying problem instead of teaching anyone a lesson.

I read this poem by @ClintSmithIII to my 7th period today and I sobbed. Uncontrollable sobbing. “Sometimes the moral arc of the universe does not bend in a direction that will comfort us.” I dunno how to do this.

Have you thought about the frame? Much of what does or doesn't succeed with kids, from policies to discussions to routines to lessons, can be traced back to how we framed it in the first place. Framing is the art of creating context for teaching and learning. Frames matter.

.@GovernorShapiro -- the reopening of I-95 is a great achievement. The solution was teamwork and resources--not draining the PennDot budget to give every driver a voucher and telling them to go find and fund their own route. 1/
