OpenAI is really in a bit of a bind here, especially considering there are a lot of people having unhealthy interactions with 4o that will be very unhappy with _any_ model that is better in terms of sycophancy and not encouraging delusions.

There’s something deeply unsettling about GPT-4o. Models like o3 or o4 don’t feel human, and they shouldn’t. 4o does. It’s not normal for an AI model to evoke emotions. 4o does. I know I’m the billionth person to say this.

The ugliness of AI gen images will be a short lived thing. As uncanny and pure terror many images invoke, a year from now everything will be clean and pretty and streamlined. The guts of it hidden from sight. So appreciate the horror while it lasts.
