How would you make a state machine that counted from 0 to 4, then started over? 0-5? 0-6? #cse320exam2

A very basic thing is drawing a state diagram. Lots of students tend to miss this on an exam, though. If you don't have two things in the node, you're missing something. #cse320exam1

Amazes me how much effort students put into trying to figure out how to do subtraction, when all they need do is look in the textbook.
The fixed sizes on the binary math and RPN calculator tasks were chosen to make the task easier, since you don't have to handle overflows.

An important thing to learn about programming: only the first error counts. Ignore the rest. Fix that first one and build anew.
If I tell you the a filename is xyz.dat, there is no doubt where it should be: it's in the current directory.
Decided to try allowing calculators on the exams this year. No apps, of course, but there are calcs with good programmer support for <$10.
