Sure. There have always been arsonists, but they are now getting much bigger "rewards" for their "efforts". Cycling in the hills around Adelaide during summer, it's amazing (and depressing) how many police you see cruising around looking for such morons.

Agreed. But do it with a little humility. Much interesting science is still at the bleeding edge. Remember when scientists told everybody that COVID19 wasn't airborne? Some science is rock solid, but some involves considerable uncertainty.

Note to Lib/Nats about climate change. In Europe at the moment, as in many parts of Australia in 2019/20, the people who predicted increased fires (all the climate scientists) were obviously correct and all those who called them charlatans or alarmists were obviously wrong.
