If the government has no system to support those who genuinely contribute through taxes, then it has no moral right to demand compliance or preach about tax "fairness." Mind it.
These employees must have already paid lakhs in income tax over the years. What do they get in return? Nothing. Not even a basic unemployment allowance for up to 6 months like many countries.
Now that TCS is laying off 12,000 employees, I truly hope they all find new opportunities soon. But life turns upside down the moment a steady income stops. And in a country like ours, how many can afford to have a proper emergency fund with the kind of tax burden we carry?
