Residents raise concerns about plan for Inuit women's shelter in Ottawa's south end ottawa.ctvnews.ca/residents-rais…
@ctvottawa Wow. NIMBY. No hospital- but it’s okay for the neighbours to have no hospital
@ctvottawa Their "concerns" are a weak cover for racism. There are women's shelters around the city and we NEVER hear about problems. The word "Inuit" seems to be adding the extra concerns. I'll take the inuit women in my community over the incoming regular homeless shelter.
@ctvottawa Go spend a few hours by Larga Baffin at Richmond and Carling. It’s a gong show. Want that in your front yard? I doubt it.
@ctvottawa Is this seriously a joke? A homeless shelter in a calm residential community, where kids play outside every day
@ctvottawa Sadly all the concerns of the residents are valid. When the homeless, fleeing domestic violence or not, move in trouble statistically follows. Ask other areas what happens when these shelters move in and how often they now see first responders. It's a sad reality but it's reality
