Most interesting conversations in Ottawa right now should be in NDP caucus. Have opportunity to use leverage they have to political (rather than policy) advantage. Getter a bigger role in Govt (even cabinet seats), or trigger showdown for progressive vote in election they trigger. 1/n
Starts with understanding that NDP’s biggest rival is LPC, not CPC. Layton got this. There’s no route to gov’t for NDP unless they leap over LPC (like 2011). If NDP is serious about eventually governing Canada, LPC is now at its most vulnerable. Why give them time to recover? 2/n
@darrellbricker I think the most interesting political conversation in Canada is why is the Leader of the Opposition, and potential Prime Minister, associating with racist, misogynist, violence-promoting Diagolon and their supporters? Why is he not disassociating himself from Alex Jones?
@darrellbricker The NDP does best Liberal minorities, where it can get concessions, since the NDP has never been able to win power under FPTP, & it seems unlikely it ever will. Right now, it needs the Liberals to do better. A Conservative Majority is the NDP nightmare, as it might undo things.
@darrellbricker Does Rachel Notley speak French?
@darrellbricker Or they could continue to leverage their support to get their policies enacted (pharmacare), or play politics, and risk losing everything to CPC getting their goals destroyed for a few more seats. Wasn't Laytons biggest regret triggering the election that gave rise to Harper?
@darrellbricker @Barbara61353150 They are all complicit and Corrupt
