Some people don't want to go to the DTES to use at an OPS and moving one out of the area could result in more people using alone. Some people don't like homelessness and poverty in their area and would rather see if shuffled along then offer a solution. bc.ctvnews.ca/councillor-say…

So so far there have been more Overdose deaths than in March than any other March since 2013 and more deaths than last month. @CTVVancouver @LennyNanZhou so if Overdose calls are down it doesn't mean people are not dying.

People often confuse homelessness with — and blame it on — harm reduction. Harm reduction didn’t cause homelessness, lack of affordable housing did.

You still don't believe in supervised consumption sites? This is the nurse who brought me back to life and helped me get into treatment. I wouldn't have the life I have today without harm reduction. More people need that opportunity. #harmreduction ❤️🔥❤️

People leaving incarceration are 8 times more likely to die of an overdose in the first 2 weeks of their freedom. The idea that forced detox in jail will make people healthier is verifiably false. It makes them 800% more likely to die.

A teen came up to me after my high school presentation and shared this: “Thanks for saying drug users aren’t bad people. My dad died of an overdose in 2020 and I don’t tell people. He wasn’t a bad person, he was my dad and he loved me.” We must do better! #EndStigma

People who use substances probably aren’t who you think they are. Construction workers have the highest rate of death by overdose of any group of employed people representing one fifth of total deaths in British Columbia. #EndStigma
