Safari 15 for Mac now opens a new window when clicking external links (say mail app or slack app?) instead of the standard create a new tab in the existing window 🤦‍♂️ Now I have to copy the link, create a new tab then paste #safari #mac #bug #devlife

Ask folks who feel like every PR review is a nightmare- they’re not doing their best work, they’re working to stay guarded. Versus a team that supports each other in PR review, I bet you’ll see they talk through things better and are willing to try different approaches.

It’s way harder to get into a creative problem solving state if you’re scared, unsupported, or worried. It may sound like kindergarten stuff but I think it’s more fundamental than that

In my honest opinion, the closer people get to a playful, childlike state, the more they can solve problems with some depth and creativity. This is why trust on a team is paramount to do your best work.

If you have 5 engineers on a team, how many parallel projects can you run? Managers who’ve not been engineers: 5! LETS GO TEAM!! Managers who have been engineers: probably 2. If we do more, each will go slower, they'll slip, and engineers will get frustrated and burned out.

Srs @Davivienda entro a la web y me dice que acceso denegado, pensé que era temporal, llevo así 3 días. No vivo en Colombia. Mi único acceso al banco incluyendo el chat de soporte era entrando a la plataforma. Qué hago? Qué pasa?

"Legacy" code is underrated. The very fact that it lived long enough to become legacy code is evidence of its value. Keeping this in mind helps me feel grateful in the face of frustration refactoring old code. Without this code would the company have survived to employ me? ❤️
