It is frankly terrifying that one third of Pakistan is underwater, China is experiencing its worst drought in record, as are the olive-producing regions of southern Spain, and we’re currently only at 1.2C of warming.

Worrying conversation with someone who thought their energy bills wold be capped at £3549 following new price cap per unit of electricity. Had to explain it doesn't work like that as it is per unit of electricity used..I can see the language is currently very misleading though.

@JoeGiddings4 heart breaking this stuff, for years in the industry people put petroleum based flammable products on buildings with certification discrepancies, but now we are left with barriers to compliant timber construction left right and centre. How can Europe manage this but UK can’t?

In the future - if there is one - those writing the history of Britain in 2022, may very well note that far and away the most important event of the year was surpassing 40C for the first time in recorded history, while the overwhelming number of politicians ignored it.

Does solar make sense? It’s 19th March, we generated 35.9kWh of power today which would have cost us (at last years 15.33p/kWh) £5.50 from the grid. When our tariff changes, this will be more like £11. As for consistency, this is the third day over 30kWh this week - solar works!

I know it probably doesn’t feel like it right now but anyone in the UK with a household income of over £22,500 is still in the richest top 10% of world population. So there really is a moral imperative for many Brits to work on reducing their consumption & carbon emissions.

Tory backbench MPs will today portray themselves as champions of civil liberties. These are the same people who have voted to criminalise peaceful protests, allow citizenship to stripped without notice, and disenfranchise millions of people. They don't care about your freedoms.
