Since my original campaign to become Mayor of OKC, I have talked about “One OKC” and the need to incorporate all of our city’s diverse communities in our decision-making. That work brings us closer to our aspiration that all residents enjoy equal opportunity. This week, I told the “One OKC” story in The New York Times (essay linked below), to CNN and others. It’s important that the nation knows that Oklahoma City is taking real action, and that we remain proud of and dedicated to that work. As I write in the piece, “To cast equal opportunity as a threat rather than a goal is to move backward.” nytimes.com/2025/08/20/opi…
@davidfholt Hey Mayor, I live in OKC and work at Tinker AFB. I am a retired Navy Commander. Why did you hide my reply? Is my opinion so controversial that it should be censored?

@davidfholt What corporate speak gobbledygook is this? There’s no substance to any of this.
@davidfholt One of the worst red state mayors right here.
@davidfholt You should run for governor David. One of the few reasonable Republicans out there
@davidfholt Refreshing to see a smart, kind, compassionate elected official who works for the people. You and your supporting cast put OKC in an amazing light.
@davidfholt U should run for dog catcher, absolutely a disgrace
@davidfholt Keep pushing, the pendulum will swing back! Real oklahomans know progressing and growing means being welcoming to everyone and creating a community. Not by bigotry and excluding others
@davidfholt Sounds like a bunch of mumble jumble to me.
@davidfholt To cast DEI as a goal rather a threat is to think backwards.
@davidfholt stick with talking about the Thunder
@davidfholt Thank you for offsetting at least some of the damage Ryan Walters is doing to Oklahoma’s image.
@davidfholt We don't want the blacks in our white communities. The browns can keep doing our landscaping. The asians can stay IF they run a Chinese or sushi restaurant. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
@davidfholt Bro wants to be back living in Washington DC so badly.
@davidfholt Do they know you can be FINED for flushing toilet paper in your city? Clown
@davidfholt Is that why you're building a stupid sidewalk at the nw express way and 74 exit? Who is that for? So the bums can get to their peddling spots safer. What are we doing, man....
@davidfholt This is the definition of a lot of talking without saying anything.
@davidfholt And I’m still begging you to run for GOVERNOR!!!!
@davidfholt Bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 Thank you Mayor Holt!! Oklahoma applauds you!
@davidfholt Please run for governor. We need common sense back in Oklahoma.
@davidfholt Really, “Sometimes this language is cloaked in patriotism, but it is really just repackaged bigotry, misogyny and racism. To cast equal opportunity as a threat rather than a goal is to move backward.”
@davidfholt I keep saying it, but you make me SO PROUD to be from Oklahoma. I pray one day to have the privilege of voting for you on a national platform, and I'm a registered Democrat. 🫱🏾🫲🏼
@davidfholt I see Maggie the Skank helped you out on that one! You're such a decent and courageous human being. You deserve everything that's coming to you! Keep up the good work Dave! You make things easy!
@davidfholt Everyone still has the right to succeed but many feel they are entitled & want success handed to them on a silver platter. It takes hard work & a desire to achieve but many are not willing to put forward the effort. That's why they fail.
