Hey @MartinSLewis My @BritishGasHelp fixed tariff runs out in May, so I’m looking at fixing again, only to discover that my standing charges are MORE than doubling. Gas standing charge going from 13.68p/day to 30.84p/day. What shall I do? #martinlewis

My @BritishGasHelp fixed tariff runs out in May, so I’m looking at fixing again, only to discover that my standing charges are MORE than doubling. How is this justified?! It only penalises lower usage. Gas standing charge going from 13.68p/day to 30.84p/day. Insane. Criminal.

After Covid I’ve always put my groceries in my bag, unloaded them on the belt, paid and then put it back in the bag. Never had an issue and never thought twice about it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I booked a train to Derby today back in January, not realising today is one of the busiest weeks of the year for this route… Cheltenham races. Train is rammed (I have a seat though, yay!). There are laddish lads in checkered grey suits drinking wine out of the bottle at 10.30am.

Unpopular opinion, but the trend not to send greetings cards makes me a little bit sad. I get that some make charitable donations but for me, I love the ritual of taking time when life is busy to sit down, get out your address book & handwrite messages to friends & loved ones 🎄
