I don't really care if Lammens is a young untested keeper for the future. Utd need one for the now. If he's better than what we possess, then he needs to be fast tracked. If it was a keeper for the future we were after. Then we should have saved £20m, and kept vitek instead.

Amorim basically says in his pre match press conference that he isn't going to put on a show just to make himself look good. He'll be himself, speak off the cuff, saying what he feels. That is refreshing when most managers just follow the usual monotonous songbook.

Players come and go. And wherever they end up after playing for Utd, has never really bothered me. And that included Tevez. Garnacho is no exception. People are forgetting that we heavily lent on him for quite a while. Even though he was just a kid. Go make a career elsewhere.

All of Amorim's post-match interviews have clearly laid the blame firmly at the players door. " The players spoke today," he kept saying. If the manager is in turmoil. Then I can't imagine what must be going on in the minds of the 'Best in class'. A few scrambled heads today.

If Amorim can find a way to enable Utd to play with the same intensity that Newcastle showed in that second half last night. And albeit with ten men. Then Utd would look a completely different team. That one aspect of our game is the fundamental reason why results go against us.

Utd started brightly. And could have been a couple of goals ahead. But faded as each minute went by. Fortunate with the penalty and fortunate with our goal. Utd's season will be defined on the road. Can Amorim get his team to play with a quicker tempo rather than with caution.

With Utd having three keepers that are picking up wages whilst being unsuitable for the job. The likelihood is that we'll be panicked into wasting around £20m on an untried lad from Antwerp. Whilst having just loaned out a lad who has been playing out of his skin for a while now.

The game hinged on two inswinging corners. One where the keeper flapped at an attempted punch. The other where the keeper firmly connected with his punch. Other than that. Their was little to choose between the teams. The positive is that Utd kept trying until the final whistle.

Well, that was the David De Gea testimonial out of the way. With Fiorentina egged on by a couple of hundred vociferous fans. Utd looked rusty going forward and dodgy at the back. But still finished pre season with the double. The pressure will be ramped up in eight days time.

Barcelona has pulled Utd's pants down here. Because we all know how this will end. An option to buy that will not be taken up next summer. Just cover for the Barca squad and a big tick on the players personal CV. We are just kicking the can down the road for twelve months.
