Beyoncé visited Horsemen’s Center Park in Apple Valley to film her music video “Spirit” for Disney’s The Lion King (2019). The unique rock formations found at the park were used as a backdrop in one of the shoots for the video.
On September 24–25, 2016, The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime shot an episode at Rabbit Dry Lake outside Lucerne Valley town limits.
The dry lakes and mountainous terrain around Lucerne Valley/Apple Valley have been used in television, film, and photography, including movies such as Stagecoach (1939) and The Hills Have Eyes (1977).
