6. The increase is significant. According to The Trevor Project, 20% of trans youth in America have attempted suicide at some point in their life. Using the Williams institute estimate of 300k trans youth in America, anti-trans laws account for tens of thousands of attempts.

3. The study was only possible because the Trevor Project has been extensively collecting data. It utilizes a multi-wave survey design which asks questions at 4 periods, starting in 2018. The sample sizes are extremely large, allowing for in depth analysis.
