I spend a lot of time on Twitter helping people as much as I can and I never ask for anything in return. Now it I need to ask for help. I quit a stable job a couple of months ago to work at a startup. I was told yesterday that the startup isn't able to pay me any longer.
It's not anyone's fault, it's just how startups work. I knew the risk I was taking and I knew that this was a possibility. The problem is that I need to get some income by the end of the month or I might not be able to pay my mortgage.
Though this was always a possibility I wasn't prepared for it to happen this fast. Unfortunately, since I was working remotely I took my daughter out of daycare and now there is no way to get her back in anytime soon because the wait-list is really long.
@denvercoder I can't help you find a job, but I can tell you that every mortgage I've had came with a 15 day grace period for making the monthly payment. So while you will accrue some additional interest, you have until the 16th before you get a late fee.
@denvercoder Tim, I got you covered if you don't land something by the 29th. DM me.
@denvercoder I recommend contacting your bank to see about an extension on your mortgage. They may allow you to skip a month or two and add on to the end, or maybe pay interest only until you find a job.
