My favorite real-world performance test of multi-core performance is running the entire HEY test suite. It's native Ruby against Docker databases and around 30,000 assertions. It's insane how hard AMD x86 under Linux goes with these!

I saw something recently mocking endnotes. But endnotes are a byproduct of the fact that ideas are tree-shaped and essays are linear. You can't always cram all the former into the latter. So frankly it's a bad sign not to have endnotes. It means you don't have enough ideas.

Reading generally is more efficient than listening because 1. we can skim over words that provide less info (Shannons entropy) 2. absorb chunks of data together (as opposed to one word at a time) 3. Parse structured info better (Index/heading/sub heading/tables)

When we were first shipping Memory, the initial thought was: “Let’s let users see and edit their profiles”. Quickly learned that people are ridiculously sensitive: “Has narcissistic tendencies” - “No I do not!”, had to hide it. Hence this batch of the extreme sycophancy RLHF.
