ED, Gurugram Zonal Office, has carried out search operations at 7 locations at Gurugram and New Delhi on 20.08.2025 under the provisions of PMLA, 2002 in connection with investigation related to illegal call centre scam wherein foreign customers (Mainly US citizens) were duped in the guise of providing non-existent tech support services to the tune of US$ 15 Million from November 2022 to April 2024. During the searches, various incriminating documents, digital devices, 8 luxury cars and various high valued luxury watches were recovered and seized, along with 30 bank accounts linked with the accused persons were frozen.

@dir_ed This is another big reminder that these sophisticated tech scams are reaching everywhere. The initial bust is good for headlines but a strong follow up is what will really matter. Let's just hope the courts can keep pace with the scale of these operations now.

@dir_ed Cracking down on these big scams always makes for good headlines but the real test is the follow through in the courts. Too often these cases get bogged down in process. Let's hope this one doesn't just disappear after a few news cycles and we see some real justice.
