The next few posts are themed under the title 'Two Women Posing (In Pattern Attire)', of which there are many in the slide collection (I've no idea why, but here we are). 1/4
Dated: March 1968 No information provided regarding the event/location, so I'll just focus on the classic Kodak Instamatic 104 on the bottom-right. The 104 was incredibly popular for Kodak, their simplicity and affordability helped sell over 60 million cameras in the 60s and 70s.
Dated: October 68 This looks suspiciously like Westminster Abbey, across the road from Parliament. What is occurring I couldn't dig up, but it appears to involve a conga line of judges. Fun picture nevertheless.

Dated: April 73 As a David Hockney fan, this feels reminiscent of his earlier art and photographic works - shimmering swimming pools and sunshine. A really well composed image.
Dated: June 1979. Location: 'The Blue Grotto', Capri, Italy. Sunlight passing through an underwater cavity illuminates the seawater creating an impressive blue reflection... or at least it would if the negative hadn't been damaged by light exposure to create a hellish red.

Dated: June 1979. San Marino, Italy. Captioned: "San Marino Noble Guard. 2nd Tower." This appears to be the Cesta Tower, the tallest of the Three Towers of San Marino, located on the three peaks of Monte Titano.
Dated: June 1979. Anacapri, Italy We're in Anacapri, a comune on the island of Capri, near Naples in Italy. Looking up present day images of the Hotel Belvedere e Tre Re on the left frame shows that little has changed apart from the fashions of the day.
Dated: June 1979. Capri, Italy The next few posts take us across Italy. Unfortunately for this photographer, their photos were damaged from exposure to daylight, casting a red haze. To my eye, I think this is a happy accident, with the hyper-red further exaggerating the sunset.
TOP DOG! Says 'The News'. I have no idea what is happening here, but whatever it is, I'm into it.
Slides I buy reflect my own photographic style: composition, subject matter, lighting. Obviously I cannot change these elements, but I can put my creative spin on them. Scanning gives me control of exposure, shadows, highlights, colour - less restoration, more re-imagination.
Dated: October 1974 The bright open-top bus prominently featured in these sunny slides is (now defunct) tour operator Suntrekkers. In the 70s they operated a London to Marrakesh bus route. Shown is their visit to the Dar El Makhsen Gateway, at the King's Palace in Fes.

I'm always searching for 'people photos'. There's a moment of anticipation when holding a frame up to the light, awaiting whatever mystery meets the eye. Almost always, they're landscapes, or simple holiday snaps, and will get thrown back into the crate.
